Set during the Roman Empire, our book is an historical mystery with a hint of the supernatural. Following a personal tragedy, Gaius Civilis – known simply as 'Baecr' – is forced to embark on a perilous journey to search for his missing brother. This leads him to the edge of Rome's empire; to Britain, where he finds rain, war, and whispers of a conspiracy against the Emperor. ​
